Mom is teaching part-time PE at Zion still and has also volunteered to help coach the 6th grade volleyball team. They won their first match in a very close and exciting game. This Sunday Dad and I surprised Mom with a party to celebrate her
50th birthday which is this coming Monday.
Dad is teaching at LHS. It doesn't feel too unusual being at the same school although he sometimes comes into my chemistry class and likes to joke around with my teacher but its not too embarassing. He's been taking me to and from school and other places where I need to go and has graciously stayed at school longer until I'm done with practice. Both of my parents have been very flexible and unselfish to adjust to my cross-country and school schedules.
We've talked to Sandi and Christa many times already and they both seem to be happy where they are. Sandi is playing on an intramural football team and really enjoying it. Christa is participating in the choir, band, and handbells at Mequon. (Sorry I don't know the official names of the groups.) We miss them both!
I've started my first year of high school and feel like it has gone pretty smoothly. It's great to get to know so many different people. I've been running Cross-Country this year, and I love it. Everyone on the team is so encouraging and supportive and the coaches are awesome! I'm so thankful to have the opportunity to be on this small but close group. Our first meet was last Friday and we have another one tomorrow. We couldn't have a team score last week since we had some injuries and didn't have enough to run as a team, but everyone did extremely well.
Remembering the anniversary of 9-11 of today, I thank God for the gift of life He's given me and for so many luxuries that I know I overlook way too often. I hope you are all doing well and enjoy the picutres of our first meet and Mom's surprise birthday party.
Love,
Angie
