Catching Up.. Once Again!

Well, I have been doing a horrible job of keeping up with blogging, and I really don't have a very great excuse for it haha! This summer was found our family constanty moving, but with just enough time to relax in between. At the end of June, Mom, Angie, and I worked at "Crocodile Dock," Zion's VBS. That weekend, Angie and I, along with other friends and members of Youth Group went to the Missouri District Youth Gathering in Springfield, MO. It was lots of fun. The day after we got back, Mom and Dad took their anniversary trip to some random small town in Missouri (don't remember where it was at this point... Whoops!) The next weekend (4 of July) I got to go to Branson with Jon and his parents where they have a lake house (another fun trip!)
All this time, Sandi worked at Dots, a ladies' clothing store in the area, but she got the following weekend off (7/10-7/12) to go to Mobile, AL with her closest Samford friends. This same weekend, the rest of us went up to WI where I had college orientation, and we got to see many family members, some of whom we rarely get to see! What fun all of us had that weekend! The following Sunday (7/19) Mom, Dad, Angie, and I left to go on the annual Zeitler vacation. This year the destination was Lake Ardmore? in Oklahoma (not sure if that was the exact location, but we were nearby haha). The week in Oklahoma included much tubing, water skiing attempts, a wedding shower for Jordy and Lauren, a trip to Dallas (for me, anyway) and lots and lots of family time (including 4 trivial pursuit games) and multiple attempts to learn Dad's brat sauce recipe. We left the vacation a little early to make a stop near Kansas City on Friday, the 24th , to help Aunt Karen, Uncle Jon, Peter, and Emily move things into Peter and Emily's house in KS. When we got back, Angie had finally made the decision to run cross country instead of playing volleyball for LHS. In fact, she is at her first official practice right now!
The following weekend, on Sunday, August 2, Jon was baptised and confirmed at Zion. At all services that weekend, I had a fun experience in giving the children's message. It was an exciting day for all, as Mom and Dad are two of his sponsors. The next day, I went to LHS to get my yearbook (I helped create it) and I am absolutely thrilled with how it turned out!
I figured now would be a good time to post since summer is practically over here at the Steinbacher house. Mom has been putting in many hours at Zion. Dad has been attending faculty meetings, and Sandi and I can count our final shifts at work on one hand each. Dad and Angie start school Wednesday (Orientation Day); Thursday is the first full day of classes. We think Sandi will be leaving next Tuesday, and will move in on Wednesday. Mom begins classes next Wednesday (8/19) and I leave the following Tuesday, and will move in on Wednesday (8/26).
Hopefully tonight I will find time to make a "photo journal" of all our summer events for the blog. God's blessings to everyone as a new school year, and for many of us, a new chapter in our lives begins!
Love, C
