Catching Up... Again

Well, I have most definitely failed at posting once a week. May was a very busy month for our family. Starting with my final LHS concert on May 7, we never really stopped running. At the concert, we performed some really incredible music, it was also awards night for senior music students. I recieved service awards for being choir (and band?) secretary, the Director's Award for Choir, and the John Philip Sousa Award. A week later, we had the real senior awards night.
The next day, Sandi got home for the summer, and less than an hour later, Aunt Karen and Grandma arrived to our house. That Saturday (the 16th) was Angie's State Track Meet. She got 1st in the triple jump (setting a new school record, jumping 31' 7.5" (i think)), 1st in the 400 meter dash. 2nd in the 4x200 relay, and 2nd in the 200 meter dash. The Zion girls team placed 1st overall for the 2nd year in a row!!! If that wasn't enough excitement, the Krugs, and Aunt Christa, Jack, and Kate arrived in town that evening for Angie's Confirmation. The weekend continued to be excited on Sunday morning. Sunday, May 17th marked Angela's confirmation day. Her life verse is Deuteronomy 31:6. The service was very lovely (with some great music, I must add). Although I did not sit with the family (cause I was playing my flute), Jon and I still got to have some fun with a little one, Evelyn, in the balcony during the service.
The following week meant finals and a good-bye to high school for me. I only had to take three finals, and had to finish up two yearbook spreads (can't wait for it to come out!!!) Grandma even stayed the whole week with us!!! (what a blessing!!!) Thursday night, Zanny and Vic arrived, and we went to the Ascension service. Saturday, Aunt Karen, Uncle Jon, the Krugs, and Matt Zeitler arrived in preparation for Sunday (My high school graduation). Sunday, marked my graduation day for me! I was the lone valedictorian for the LHS class of 2009. We saw most of the family off on a very rainy monday morning, after I spent most of the night up at Grad night.
Zanny and Vic stayed for a few more days before heading to IL and WI. While they were here, Zanny helped my make a t-shirt quilt, which I absolutely love!!
I got a job working as a babysitter at Club Fitness; Sandi is working at Dots; Angie is taking Summer class in Applications (a computer course). We are continuing to just live our lives.
Saturday, we had my graduation/Angie's Confirmation party... it was lots of fun, and we probably had about 40-50 people go through the house throughout the evening. We hope you are all doing well, and pictures from the past month will follow soon!
Love, C
